🎯 Learning objectives

After completing this lesson, the child should be able to:

  • Compare sizes: big, bigger, biggest
  • Order objects from largest to smallest
  • Carry and place objects with care
Ten pink cubes, biggest to smallest — one of the most famous hands-on lessons of all: size and order. Meet the tower!

Meet the tower

Ten pink cubes: the first is tiny (1 cm), the last is big (10 cm). The child carries them one by one and builds a tower from biggest at the bottom to smallest at the top.

The secret lessons inside

  • Size words: big, bigger, biggest — small, smaller, smallest.
  • Order: each cube has its place; a wrong cube makes a bump you can see and fix yourself.
  • Care: carrying cubes with two hands builds focus and gentle movement.

Build your own tower at home

  1. Grab stacking cups, boxes or books of different sizes.
  2. Line them up biggest to smallest.
  3. Stack them into a tower — biggest at the bottom!
  4. Knock it down (of course), and build it again.

Say the words

As you play, use the size words: "Which is bigger? Which is the smallest?" Words and sizes grow together.
